About

Dr. Lesley Keeling-Olson joined Temple College in 2002 as the Department Chair of Criminal Justice. Currently, she serves as the Director of Perkins Grants and holds the position of Professor of Criminal Justice. With over 20 years of experience in Career and Technical Education (CTE), Lesley has extensive practitioner experience that started in 1989. 

Lesley earned her Bachelor’s degree from Baylor University before pursuing two Associates degrees in Criminal Justice at Temple College. Her academic journey continued with a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Tarleton State University and a Doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

A dedicated advocate for non-traditional genders in CTE, Lesley brings firsthand experience in the criminal justice field. She is passionate about Perkins initiatives and specializes in improving Perkins Core Indicators. Currently, Lesley leads a Perkins Leadership Grant focused on Perkins Special Populations. Under her guidance, Texas Perkins Basic Grant Directors will soon have comprehensive guides for each category of Special Populations.

Lesley is married to Nick who is a firefighter and fire investigator.  They have two daughters who are attending Baylor University, which means they spend the bulk of their fun time in Waco, TX, enjoying Baylor events.
